How to keep your remote start or keyless entry remote from dying
Wednesday, August 9, 2017
One of the worst feelings is sprinting to your car in the rain, frantically hitting the unlock button, only to remain locked out and drenched. Or attempting to start your snow-covered vehicle early, and discovering it still neither warm nor defrosted twenty minutes later. There are two ways you can prevent being left out in the cold.
Change your batteries.
The experts at Mobile Car Pro recommend replacing your remote's batteries at least every 12 months. Batteries in a keyless entry remote start will need to be replaced sooner than batteries in a start-only remote, due to the increased frequency of usage. If you notice that your remote isn’t functioning from the same distance as before, replace the batteries. Range decreases as battery life depletes with eventual complete loss of signal to the vehicle.
It’s also a common misconception that battery strength is tied the remotes' LED illuminating. The LED requires a much smaller amount of power and will continue to light long after the batteries have enough strength to send a signal to the vehicle.
Install a quality system.
Remote start and keyless entry systems allow us to escape the blistering heat of summer and the freezing cold of winter. Mobile Car Pro works to ensure that your systems never fail you. We only install quality systems that are backed by an excellent warranty.
If you don’t have keyless entry or remote start, you are missing out. We all know that once you have keyless entry, you’ll never want to unlock your car with a key again.
